Leadership

Keith Vanderbilt

Keith Vanderbilt brings more than 30 years of architectural experience spanning hospitality, multifamily, mixed-use, senior and student living, as well as corporate and retail projects. Known for his ability to seamlessly guide the design process, Keith balances creative vision with a disciplined focus on client objectives. His technical expertise strengthens every phase of a project— particularly during the preparation of construction documents and construction administration.
A graduate of Temple University, Keith founded Reese Vanderbilt in 2009, establishing a practice rooted in thoughtful design and technical rigor.

James Hampel

Associate Principal

James Hampel

James Hampel, Associate Principal, brings more than 40 years of architectural experience to his role. His diverse portfolio includes high-rise buildings, hotels, and multifamily developments. One of the most memorable projects of his career is the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta building. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, James attended Kansas State University’s College of Architecture. He is passionate about bringing buildings together—both technically and creatively—and collaborating with clients to help their vision become reality. James finds great satisfaction in producing buildings where people live and work, knowing his contributions have a lasting impact on communities.

Polya Valkanov

Associate Principal / Director of Design

Polya Valkanov joined Reese Vanderbilt in 2017 and has since guided the firm’s design direction, working closely with President Keith Vanderbilt to lead master planning, site planning, and architectural design initiatives. She began her architectural education at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
A licensed architect with over 15 years of experience, Polya brings leadership to mid- to large-scale projects across the multifamily, hospitality, student housing, senior living, office, and retail sectors. She is focused on translating each client’s vision into creative, compelling, context-driven, high-quality spaces.

Tony Tyto

Project Manager

“I believe great architecture is a symbiosis of detail, aesthetics, and the environment.” As a Project Manager at Reese Vanderbilt and Associates, he has spent the past seven years overseeing a wide range of projects—from large-scale residential communities to major hospitality brands such as Marriott and Hilton. With international training at the Polytechnic University of Turin and experience with global engineering firms, he brings a meticulous attention to detail throughout every phase of the design documentation and construction process. When he is not on-site or in the office, he is often traveling to explore new cultures and architectural styles firsthand.

Brian Campbell

Project Manager

From an early age a passion for drawing, design and cities led Brian to independent study of architecture and urban planning well before obtaining degrees from The University of Kentucky and Georgia Tech. For twenty plus years he has expanded his design experience and knowledge from small to medium sized commercial and K-12 projects to larger Multifamily and Hospitality commissions across the Southeast. In his spare time he enjoys walking and experiencing cities around the globe, hikes in North Georgia and Low Country relaxation.

Steve Brown

Quality Control / Technical Services

Steve is a creative and highly detail-oriented architectural professional with over 25 years of experience in design development and project execution. His work is grounded in a thoughtful, precise approach to architecture, with a strong commitment to quality, collaboration, and the delivery of well-resolved built environments. He specializes in implementing efficient, practical detailing and design solutions that support both constructability and design intent. He brings a deep understanding of architectural standards, coordination, and execution to ensure projects meet the highest level of technical and design excellence.

Aldo Trillo

With over 22 years of architectural and on-site construction experience, Aldo Trillo brings a dedicated, hands-on approach to every project. He holds a degree in Architecture and several industry certifications, focusing on delivering accurate results on schedule. Aldo believes in starting each day with a smile and is deeply passionate about technology and car mechanics. When he isn’t reviewing plans, he enjoys repairing things and maintaining his car.

Anna is an experienced, detail-oriented architect with over 20 years of professional experience specializing in the design and production of construction documents across a wide range of project types, including residential, multifamily, mixed-use, retail, healthcare, education, science and technology, and industrial projects.
Growing up in a family of construction engineers, Anna developed a passion for building design at an early age. Her involvement in architectural clubs and youth design programs during high school laid the foundation for her strong technical skills and lifelong dedication to the built environment.
